Pair of Bower & Wilkins DM310 baffles from 1992, in very good condition.
These so-called "library" baffles made in England offer the usual characteristics of English women: splendid medium and a treble anything but aggressive. The bass is clean and differentiated.
The 8-inch woofer features a reinforced polypropylene diaphragm with critical contours, which is coupled to an energy-dampening PVC frame, resulting in lower coloring.
The specially created 25 mm (1 inch) aluminum dome tweeter allows for high power management to cope with the heavier use imposed on modern hi-fi systems. Frequencies above 20 kHz are in its range.
The tweeter plate and the beveled front edges of the speaker help to produce a considerably more uniform frequency response. The B&W tradition of attention to detail is manifested by other features, such as the low-frequency reinforced diaphragm, the die-cast rigid chassis and the possibility of bi-wiring or bi-amplification.
